Job summary

Insight Surgical Hospital is a focused surgical center providing resident-level patient care and a team-oriented environment. The Surgical Technologist supports the surgeon and staff in neuro/spine, ortho, pain management and other surgeries with aseptic technique and high precision.

Ideal candidates will have an HS diploma or equivalent, an Associate’s Degree preferred, and Surgical Technologist certification; CPR within 60 days is required. The role emphasizes fast pace, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree strongly preferred.
• Surgical Technologist certification strongly preferred.
• CPR certification within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrubbing and assisting duties within the sterile field during operative procedures
• Anticipates the needs of the acting surgeon and staff through the passing of instruments and supplies
• Assures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment by following proper policies and procedures
• Ability to learn quickly and maintain a positive outlook
• Demonstrates knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique
• Shows knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures, implants and supplies used in the OR
• Assists with draping of the patient and establishing the sterile field
• Reviews instruments, sharps and sponge counts with circulating nurses
• Participates in OR turnover and cleaning to prepare for the next patient case
• Able to work under pressure and deliver the highest level of patient care
