The Surgical Technologist supports the surgeon by scrubbing, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the U.S. (full eligibility to work)
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Associate’s Degree strongly preferred or 2 years of related experience
• Surgical Technologist certification strongly preferred
• Orthopedic/spine specialization is a plus
• CPR certification within 60 days of employment
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

• Performs scrubbing and assisting duties within the sterile field during operative procedures
• Anticipates the needs of the acting surgeon and staff by passing instruments and supplies
• Maintains and ensures proper care of surgical instruments and equipment
• Adapts quickly and maintains a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic techniques and operating room practices
• Familiar with instruments, implants, and supplies used in the OR
• Asks questions and speaks up to ensure patient safety and aseptic integrity
• Assists with draping and establishing the sterile field
• Reviews counts with circulating nurses and supports OR turnover
