Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; specialty area certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Renders care to assigned patients under the RN, including direct patient care activities.
• Prepares and stocks the operating room before and after surgery; gathers sterile supplies.
• Sets up sterile instrument fields and maintains aseptic technique.
• Communicates effectively with team, co-workers and patients.
• Manages instruments, equipment and supplies with attention to safety and cost containment.
