Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgeon during operative procedures and maintain a sterile field under RN supervision in a busy operating room.

The ideal candidate has completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or significant experience, is proficient in sterile technique, and capable of anticipating the surgeon's needs while participating in all intraoperative phases from setup to room turnover.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience is required.
• Surgical Technologist certification is highly preferred.
• One year experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgery center is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures OR is prepped and ready before patient arrival.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with instrument handling.
• Verifies surgeon's preferences and participates in time-out and breaks in sterility.
• Assists with room turnover and prepares instruments for CPD.
