Job Title: Clinical Rotation Preceptor - Surgical Technologist

$10K Sign On Bonus

On-site position - NOT remote

Summary: The Clinical Rotation Preceptor reports to the Clinical Coordinator. Clinical education, under the supervision of skilled preceptors, provides students with practical experience to develop advanced practice skills. The primary responsibility of the preceptor is to socialize students into the healthcare provider role through formal and informal education. The preceptor guides the student’s clinical learning, facilitates autonomy, and acts as a role model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Preceptor:

• Set goals and objectives for the practicum experience based on student outcomes provided by College faculty.
• Assist students in applying theory to practice.
• Evaluate students’ learning objectives.
• Help students develop and improve performance.
• Use appropriate teaching methods to meet learning objectives.
• Foster an informal, collaborative, and respectful learning environment.
• Review course and clinical objectives to determine beneficial learning opportunities.
• Promptly communicate concerns or unsafe practices related to students to clinical faculty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Instructor:

• Utilize classroom and lab instruction, assessment tools, and classroom management to engage students.
• Present material effectively to meet course learning objectives.
• Ensure instructional materials and equipment are available, maintained, and functional.
• Participate in ongoing faculty development and maintain required certifications and licensure.
• Attend meetings, review data, prepare reports, and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
• Monitor student attendance and submit reports timely.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and adhere to the syllabus schedule.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom and lab environment.
• Arrive on time and ready to teach.

- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
