Job summary

Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub in for designated surgeries and perform general OR duties in Seattle. You will prepare for surgery, maintain a sterile field, and assist with instruments and supplies per surgeons' plans while adhering to KFHPW policies.

Required education includes graduation from an approved Surgical Technology program and Washington Surgical Technologist Registration, plus Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of Surgical Technology or equivalent Hospital or Armed Forces training.
• Surgical Technologist Registration (Washington)
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• Professional affiliation and certification is preferred by date of hire/transfer.
• Minimum two (2) years of current continuous O.R. experience in surgical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative planning and preparation: Data collection through interview, records review or consultation.
• Environmental safety and infection control: Ensure sterile field and proper equipment readiness.
• Proficient performance of assigned functions: Maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument handling.
• Teamwork: Communicate effectively with health care team and patients.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and QA/I processes.
