Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in orthopedic surgeries, maintain sterile fields, and scrub for procedures. You will anticipate surgeon needs, handle instruments, and support patient care in a fast-paced OR environment with a 6:30am–7:00pm window, Mon–Fri or variable shifts.

Candidates should be graduates of an accredited Surgical Technician program, have BLS, and at least 1 year of surgical experience; strong communication and teamwork are essential to uphold safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program or equivalent on-the-job training.
• BLS is required or within 90 days of hire.
• 1+ year of surgical experience preferred.

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Hours/Schedule 10 / Variable shifts Mon - Fri between the hours of 6:30am - 7:00pm

Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program or previous on the job training in surgical technology required.

License/Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 90 days of hire.

Experience:

1+ year of surgical experience preferred.

Physical requirements

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
