Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist, Cardiac Surgery, is responsible for preparing sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile fields during cases, and providing surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Surgery Surgical Tech experience required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General, Plastics) preferred.
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.) preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained current.
