University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will prepare the sterile field, pass instruments, and support the surgical team across procedures at Sparrow Lansing.

Requirements include NBSTSA certification, BLS, and completion of an accredited surgical technology program; an associate degree is preferred. This is a full-time position at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification required.
• BLS from American Heart Association or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of accredited surgical technology program.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologist and nurses in the operating room.
• Prepare surgical procedures and turnover between cases.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure availability of instruments.
• Pass instruments, obtain counts, and care for specimens during procedures.
• Serve as a preceptor to new staff and students.
