Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room in invasive and non-invasive procedures. You will assist physicians, prep the OR, and ensure sterile technique throughout surgeries to help ensure patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CST/TS-C/BLS certifications within 90 days, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided for those new to the field.

Qualifications

• CST certification required within 90 days of employment.
• TS-C certification required within 90 days of employment.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Maintains sterile field and passes instruments to physician during surgery.
• Accounts for instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives specimens for delivery for testing.
• Assists with wound dressings and drainage system.
• Visualizes operative site and manages suction/irrigation.
