Job summary

The ST works under the guidance of the registered nurse to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, and BLS plus surgical tech certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Graduate of accredited surgical technology program required
• Basic Life Support required
• Certified Surgical Technologist required
• Certified Operating Room Technician required

Responsibilities

• Care and safety of patients under the care of the ST
• Case preparation and patient preparation assistance
• Proper handling of instruments and equipment
• Prepare sterile field per procedure and surgeon's preference
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs
