Responsibilities

• Decision making concerning equipment and/or instrumentation sterilization.
• Bio hazardous waste disposal.
• Patient care and patient flow.
• Maintains a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and infection control standards.
• Assists surgeon in scrubbed cases.
• Pulls supplies for upcoming cases.
• Maintains proper sterile technique during gowning and gloving.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments according to policy.
• Restocks operating rooms to PAR levels.
• Attends department meetings and documents review of materials presented.
