Job summary

Christus Health in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. You will prepare patient skin, maintain aseptic technique, and set up the OR for each case.

Under supervision of a professional nurse, you will scrub multiple specialty areas, maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and support the surgical team while prioritizing patient safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a professional nurse, performs all processes that relate to direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during any surgical procedure.
• Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments, and sutures to the physician, and assists as directed by the physician.
• Familiar with facility policy and procedure regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of all instruments and supplies.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
