Job summary

CHRISTUS Surgical Hospital's Operating Room (OR) team provides essential pre-operative care and supports a range of surgical procedures with a focus on orthopedics and MAKOplasty. The OR staff maintains strict aseptic technique, ensures patient comfort, and collaborates closely with nurses and surgeons.

Job responsibilities include preparing patients, scrubbing several specialty areas, maintaining sterile fields, and transporting patients to the OR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• BLS certification required; Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cares for pre-operative patients; maintains aseptic technique.
• Proficiently scrubs 3 specialty areas (including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, etc.).
• Maintains sterile field, passes instruments, and assists the physician as directed.
• Transports patients to and from the OR; prepares the OR and supplies for cases.
