Job summary

Valley Baptist - Harlingen Hospital is recruiting a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, maintain sterile technique and support the surgical team during procedures. You will scrub, pass instruments, and help prepare the OR for each case while ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications include graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program with BLS certification; associate degree preferred and 1 year of experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• Preferred: Associate degree.
• Experience preferred: 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique and set up required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies for assigned cases.
• Scrub, pass instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Pull cases as needed and break down cases; set up OR and supplies for the next day’s schedule.
• Be available for call on assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
