Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room on a day shift in Albany, NY. You will assist the team under the supervision of an RN and a surgeon to facilitate procedures, maintain a sterile field, and ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, positioning patients, counting instruments, and inspecting items. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, CST, 1–3 years scrubbing experience; familiarity with specialty services

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST)
• 1 to 3 years of scrubbing experience preferred
• Familiar with all specialty services preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field
• Prepare operating rooms and assists with patient positioning as needed
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and supplies
• Performance of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures
