Job summary

Albany Med Health System in New York is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room on the Day shift. You will assist surgeons, maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety during procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, instrument counts, scrubbing and circulating under RN supervision. This role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent; CST program or NY LPN is acceptable, with 1–3 years scrubbing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST)
• NYS LPN also acceptable
• 1 to 3 years of scrubbing experience preferred
• Familiar with all specialty services preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field
• Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and supplies
• Performance of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures
