Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room on day shift. Under RN and surgeon supervision, you will prepare the sterile field, assist with patient positioning, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures.

This role may require on-call duties and rotating shifts. Candidates should have a Surgical Technology CST, a high school diploma, and 1–3 years of scrubbing experience; familiarity with all specialty services is desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST).
• 1–3 years of scrubbing experience preferred.
• Familiar with all specialty services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field
• Prepare operating rooms and assists with patient positioning as needed
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and supplies
• Performance of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures
