Job summary

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ seeks a Surgical Technologist to support preoperative nursing practice under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include room preparation, maintaining aseptic technique, and supplying instrumentation for the surgical case. The successful candidate will hold a nationally or regionally accredited surgical technology program credential or a certified Surgical Technologist credential, with ongoing CEU requirements.

Qualifications

• Completed a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Possesses and maintains a CST credential or equivalent recognized credential.
• Must complete 15 hours of continuing education annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical/clinical functions of Preoperative Nursing Practice under RN supervision.
• Prepare operating room for the surgical case and maintain aseptic technique intraoperatively.
• Provide instrumentation and supplies as required during procedures.
