Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to work with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists delivering direct patient care before, during, and after surgery. The technologist serves as instrument assistant and may assist as circulating staff under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include instrument setup, sterilization, equipment management, and coordinating OR resources.

Qualifications

• AST certification is required and maintained.
• Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons at the sterile field with instruments per preference cards.
• Maintain, clean, sterilize, and manage equipment and prostheses if applicable.
• Keep current knowledge of procedures and instruments.
• Coordinate equipment use with OR schedule and patient needs.
• Support infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Contribute to continuity of care under RN supervision.
