Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the team at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. This full-time position (36 hours per week) supports the sterile field during procedures under supervision, assists with instrument handling, and contributes to patient safety and efficient OR operations.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited surgical technologist program and can work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists in a dynamic hospital

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons at the sterile field with instruments per preference cards and requests.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment and prostheses as needed.
• Support safe patient care by adhering to standards of care and infection control policies.
• Organize workflow and prioritization to ensure efficient OR operations.
• Coordinate equipment use with the OR schedule and patient needs.
