Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies correct counts of sponges, tape, needles, and instruments per policy.
• Assists in receiving the patient in the OR and verifies ID and documentation.
• Supports patient care according to age and development status.
• Assembles supplies and verifies proper functioning prior to procedures.
• Positions patient and prepares the operative site.
• Maintains aseptic technique while setting up instruments and supplies.
• Gowns and gloved team members according to sterile standards.
• Assists surgeon and team by anticipating operative needs.
• Prepares sterile dressings and supplies after procedures.
• Ensures sterile field is maintained and disposes of linen and sharps appropriately.
• Participates in room turnover, stocking, and preparation for next procedures.
• Maintains competencies and participates in ongoing education.
