Job summary

Trinity Health in Michigan is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, day-shift role. You will support surgeons by passing instruments and supplies, maintain strict aseptic technique, and assist with instrument reprocessing and sterilization.

The position requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program and certification within one year, with ongoing certification maintenance. Expect 80 hours per pay period, four 10-hour shifts weekly, with weekend call as per contract.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program is required.
• Certification Examination must be completed within one year of employment.
• Must maintain certification throughout employment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing and passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintains aseptic technique during all operative procedures and ensures proper sterile boundaries.
• Identifies and addresses breaches in aseptic technique and intervenes as needed.
• Performs all phases of reprocessing including decontamination, tray assembly and sterilization, with documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
