Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for day shift, full-time hours (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts) in Muskegon, MI. You will assist surgeons and residents by preparing and passing instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting sterile environments.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program, certification within a year, and ongoing certification. Benefits start day one and include a comprehensive package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program is required.
• Certification Examination must be completed within one year of employment.
• Must maintain certification throughout employment.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
• Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups with diverse perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating and passing surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and provides retraction under the surgeon’s direction.
• Maintains aseptic technique during all procedures and adheres to attire, hand scrub, gowning, gloving, and sterile field protocols.
• Identifies breaches in aseptic technique and implements interventions.
• Performs all phases of reprocessing including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
