Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. Qualifications

• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in sterile field per AORN Standards of Practice.
• Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure case has sterile supplies/equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under the RN circulator supervision.
• Adhere to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
