Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician (OR) to join our operating room team. The Certified Surgical Technologist will assist the surgeon in the sterile field and support circulating duties under RN supervision.

Candidates must be CST or NCCT, complete 15 hours CE annually to stay qualified in NJ, and maintain BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Certification.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in New Jersey.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
