The position supports perioperative care under supervision, assists surgeons with instruments, and requires adherence to aseptic techniques and OR policies.

Candidates should have a Surgical Technology credential and BLS certification, with a plan to obtain final credential within 12 months of graduation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program or military training in surgical technology.
• New graduates must obtain credential within 12 months of graduation date.
• 0–12 months of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room throughout perioperative care.
• Maintains strict aseptic technique during setup, draping, and surgery.
• Scrubs on cases and assists in organizing instrumentation for the surgeon.
• Prepares and selects instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Performs counts with the circulating nurse and assists in room turnover.
• Adheres to OR policies and supports quality improvement activities.
