Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a part-time Surgical Tech to join our inpatient surgery team. Shifts run 10:40am–11:10pm with weekend and holiday on-call requirements, prorated sign-on bonus up to $13,500, and potential relocation assistance.

The role supports pre-op OR prep, assists in a Level 1 Trauma Center, and adapts to varied department needs. Qualifications include completion of a Surgical Technologist program (or 2 years’ experience in lieu) and BLS/CPR within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Two years of Surgical Technologist experience may be considered in lieu of completion.

• Work in fast paced environment to prepare the Operating Room prior to surgery.
• Work with world renowned surgeons within our Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Prepare for and perform complex surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of and assist surgeons during surgery.

Job description

Part-time, 90% FTE, day/evening shift. Shifts are scheduled between the hours of 10:40am - 11:10pm. Weekend and holiday on-call requirement. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay: This position may be eligible for up to a $13,500 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).

  • Evening and night shift differential
  • Weekend differential
  • On-call pay

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program Required
• Two (2) years of Surgical Technologist experience may be considered in lieu of completion of a Surgical Technologist program

Work Experience

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program Preferred
• 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support/CPR certification within 6 months Required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Preferred
