Job summary

UW Health in Madison is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to join their dynamic surgery team. In this role, you will assist in complex surgical procedures and be responsible for preparing the Operating Room. The position entails working every weekend and may include holidays, with flexible schedules.

Applicants must complete a Surgical Technologist program, and one year of experience is preferred. UW Health offers an excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program required.
• Two (2) years of Surgical Technologist experience may be considered in lieu of completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
• 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

• Assist the surgeon during surgery.
• Care for the instruments and supplies used in surgery.

Work Schedule

Part-time, 60% FTE, weekender position. You will work every Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am - 7:00pm. You will be required to work holidays that fall on the weekends. No on-call required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay

• Pay range is based on a full-time position (100% FTE)
• This position may be eligible for a $9,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE)
• Additional components of compensation may include:
  • Weekend differential, $9.00/hour
  • Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support/CPR certification within 6 months required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
