Job description

Elite New York City animal hospital seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to work alongside their Veterinarians on their Interventional Radiology Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists veterinarians during procedures by operating ancillary equipment, anticipating and obtaining catheters, wires and other necessary inventory and medications as ordered.
  • Work closely with DVMs, LVTs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless procedure flow and patient safety (as needed by DVM, within the parameters of the law).
  • Set up for surgical and non-surgical procedures, with the ability to respond rapid changes efficiently
  • Operate, maintain, & troubleshoot operating room equipment, ultrasound units and other ancillary devices within the department & reporting & addressing any concerns with minimal delay
  • Provides direct, safe, competent and quality patient care in the Interventional radiology department.
  • Assists in the performance of various invasive interventional, cardiac or peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Functions under the direction and immediate supervision of the DVM performing the procedure.
  • Must be proficient in handling sensitive instruments and equipment.
  • Regularly check and maintain equipment, scheduling maintenance or repairs as necessary.
  • Clean equipment after procedures and turn over room in preparation for next procedure
  • Clean/sterilize and maintain surgical equipment; Coordinate and work with the surgical team.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • A minimum of one year of experience
  • Veterinary experience NOT required

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000
