Job description

Elite New York City animal hospital has a unique opportunity for an Interventional Radiology Technologist or Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to work alongside their veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide technical support and patient comfort and care.

Responsibilities:

• Operate all aspects of the IR surgical suite, including endoscopic equipment, fluoroscopy & Siemens unit including performing diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting
• Operate conventional fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to DVM specifications and orders.
• Assist with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures by monitoring, passing, instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedures, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be used by DVM
• Coordinate with the IR team for procedure set up and timing
• Prepare and update medical records as required
• Infection control: cleaning and disinfecting of work areas, instruments, equipment, OR and cages.
• Oversee inventory management and quality checks as needed
• Work with LVT to complete anesthesia machine maintenance checklist twice weekly
• Coordinate with other services as needs
• Troubleshoot equipment and complete and coordinate preventative maintenance as needed
• Assist with training of new staff in set up for procedures and use of specialized equipment.
• Proficient use of the electronic medical records (Instinct, Cornerstone) and software used in the hospital.
• Actively participates in all research studies as assigned by IR Directors

Qualifications:

• Licensed Interventional Radiology Technologist or Cardiac Catheterization Technologist
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience
• Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in both clinical care and research
• Veterinary experience NOT required

Salary:

$110,000 - $135,000
