Job summary

CentraCare Health in Monticello, MN is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to support our surgeons in the operating room. You will prepare ORs, stock instruments, and assist surgeons to help improve patient outcomes. Typical schedule is 72 hours every two weeks, Monday–Friday days with on-call requirements.

The role offers a $3,000 signing bonus and $5,000 relocation assistance for eligible candidates and competitive benefits including medical and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgeries across a wide range of procedures.

Surgical Technologists at CentraCare are critical to successful surgeries! Your hands are often closer to the surgeon’s than anyone else’s.

Our Surg Techs are there to prepare for a patient’s arrival and stay in the operating room to ensure their best possible outcome. You’ll prepare operating rooms for a wide range of surgeries and procedures, inventory surgical materials and tools to assure patient safety, and suit up with surgeons to help them save and improve patients’ lives.

Schedule:

• Part-Time, 72 hours every two weeks
• Monday through Friday day shifts, with rotating holidays
• Off-premise call requiring a 30-minute response time during weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay and Benefits:

• Surgical Technologists starting pay begins at $29.34 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Associate Degree from a surgical first assistant program.

Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Previous Surgical technician experience preferred.
• Must possess demonstrated communication skills, be team minded, able to read and communicate effectively in English, strong written and verbal skills and possess strong interpersonal human relations skills.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and/or work independently as needed.
• Respond onsite within 30 minutes when “on call”.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

To be eligible for the sign-on bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time benefited position. Previous employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.

To be eligible for the relocation bonus you must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare in the last 9 months. Must currently reside more than 50 miles away andrelocate to within 30 miles of primary work location within 120 days.
