Mass Eye & Ear, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist for our Longwood satellite location (800 Huntington Ave), onsite. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons and staff, preparing the OR, setting up sterile supplies, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires CST NBSTSA preferred credentials, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2–3 years of acute care surgical tech experience (4 years preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CST NBSTSA certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of surgical technologist experience in an acute care setting required; 4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a variety of surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room and set up sterile supplies and equipment.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning and comfort.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow sterilization techniques to maintain sterile instruments and supplies.
• Document surgical procedures and perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses on the surgical team.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with sterile drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.
