Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for the Labor and Delivery team at Baptist Medical Center Beaches in Jacksonville Beach, FL. This PRN days position supports a busy OR with focus on sterile technique and patient safety.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited MST program, CST certification, and BLS; less than 1 year of experience is acceptable. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile fields, and restocking the OR.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred; NBSTA/NCCT acceptable but not required.
• Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience; AA/AS preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly.
• Proper disposition of specimens and instruments.
• Work with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Maintain and restock the operating room between surgeries.

Between surgeries, the individual will clean and restock the operating room.
