Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist in Oklahoma City to support the OR team. You will handle instruments, coordinate patient care with the team, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. This full-time role offers 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, with day or evening options and on-call as assigned.

Required education is a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification; English proficiency is essential. Prior surgical tech experience is considered in hiring.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or GED required; proof may be requested.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Must understand English (written and spoken).
• Experience as a surgical technologist or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.
• Maintains accountability for provision of surgical instruments to the team.
• Coordinates care of the surgical patient with other team members.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality.

Shift: Full Time (36 hours/week)

Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts/week, days (6a-6:30p) OR evenings (10:30a-11p) with call requirement assigned

Overview

Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.
• Licensure: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
• Experience: non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
