Job summary

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)/Scrub Tech to support surgical operations under RN supervision. You will help prepare the OR, hand instruments to surgeons, and maintain a sterile environment to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program required.
• CST credential within facility policy.
• BLS certification required.
• De-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical operations under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, supplies, and solutions.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and team during procedures.
• Accurately track sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist with room turnover and waste disposal, and equipment reprocessing.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment per standards.
• Document instrument counts and sterilization indicators.
