Job summary

UPMC Magee Bone & Joint Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its orthopedic surgery team in Pittsburgh. You will operate in a fast-paced, specialty environment focused on orthopaedics, supporting surgeons, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• 1-2 years of Operating Room experience preferred
• Orthopaedic surgery experience strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining sterile fields, instruments, and surgical equipment
• Assisting surgeons and the surgical team during orthopaedic procedures
• Anticipating surgeon needs and efficiently passing instruments and supplies
• Supporting patient safety through meticulous counting and sterile technique practices
• Assisting with specimen handling, medication labeling, and surgical dressings
• Helping create a safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical environment
• Serving as a mentor and resource for new team members and students
• Participating in professional practice initiatives and interdisciplinary teams
