Job summary

MaineHealth seeks a Surgical Technologist II for Maine Medical Center in Portland. This full-time, 40-hour/week day shift ensures all elements for surgical procedures are in place and supports staff and student teaching.

Eligible candidates may include new grads or experienced technologists with related credentials. Minimum KSAs include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, NBSTSA certification within 3 months, current BLS, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology is required.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at the Director's discretion.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• One year of experience is required; demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist II role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures.
• Participates in teaching staff and students and meets criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

Current BLS certification

One year of experience in Surgical Technologist I
