Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support surgical procedures in the operating room. You will maintain sterile technique, prepare and manage instruments, and coordinate patient care with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires BLS certification and surgical technology experience, with a 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule and rotational call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Surgical technology experience required; non-certified applicants with relevant experience will be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CST preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and operative team in procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepare and manage instruments and equipment; update surgeon preference cards as needed.
• Coordinate patient care activities with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Communicate equipment needs and report issues to support efficient room turnover.
• Complete required documentation supporting purchasing and process improvements.
