Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited surgical/operating room technician program and/or minimum of two years experience in an operating room required.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and maintenance required.
CPR (BLS) certification required.
Responsibilities
Perform required duties in the OR under RN supervision according to hospital standards.
Utilize the Surgeon Preference Card to gather necessary supplies for each procedure.
Maintain 'The Joint Commission' standards and assist in performance improvement activities.
Skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
Ability to utilize a variety of computer programs
Ability to follow AORN guidelines for perioperative practice
Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships
Education
