Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO, is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to prepare the surgical suite and assist during operations, ensuring safety and efficiency alongside a skilled team. You will scrub in, pass instruments, help with patient positioning, and monitor equipment while upholding sterile technique and high-quality patient care.

Certification preferred; BLS required; three OR specialty areas including Neuro or Cardio/Thoracic; completion of a Surgical Technician

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program or Surgical Technician training with evidence of experience in the past three years or a licensed healthcare provider with 1 year operating room experience.
• Certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required
• Must be competent to perform in a minimum of three OR specialty areas, one of which must be Neuro or Cardio/Thoracic. Specialty areas are defined as Cardio/Thoracic, ENT, Neuro, Ortho, Vascular or robotics.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team's needs
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
