Job summary

Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, IL seeks a Surgical Technologist II to assist in patient care and surgical services under RN supervision. The primary scrub role is during surgical procedures, supporting Rush mission, vision and values.

Requires ORT program graduate or CST certification, 1+ year clinical experience, strong communication and teamwork, and flexibility with the schedule. Shift 4, 8-hour day (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM). Full-time position with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited ORT Program.
• One or more years of clinical experience OR current CST certification.
• Analytic ability.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Able to interact effectively with others in difficult situations.
• Flexibility with schedule to accommodate staffing needs.
• Organizational skills for timely processes.
• Ability to document using EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Applies aseptic technique principles.
• Keeps sterile field and back table sterile at all times.
• Recognizes breaks in technique and reports to RN.
• Handles and secures instruments and draping materials aseptically.
• Applies disinfection and antisepsis techniques.
• Prepares instrumentation for decontamination per protocol.
• Demonstrates advanced OR technical skills.
• Scrubs multiple procedures with competency.
