Job summary

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is hiring a Surgical Technologist II for the Operating Room 1. The role supports the surgeon and OR team, ensuring sterile technique and efficient procedure flow.

Eligible to receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates. Minimum qualifications include a accredited surgical technologist program completion or military training in surgical technology, plus at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in Surgical Technology.
  • BLS certification required prior to end of orientation.
  • New graduates may certify within six months of graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the surgeon and surgical team during operative procedures.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to team members.
  • Assist with maintaining sterile technique and equipment readiness.

Responsible to support the surgeon and members of the surgical team during the operative procedure and serves as a clinical resource.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):


Individual must provide evidence of one of the following:



  • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and maintains a surgical technologist certification; new graduates of accredited surgical tech programs may obtain certification within six (6) months of graduation.

  • Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Army, Navy, or Air Force

  • Previously employed to practice surgical technology by the hiring Penn State Health (PSH) health care facility on or before December 29, 2020, or had been employed to practice surgical technology as the primary function at another healthcare facility at any time during the two (2) years prior to December 29, 2020.

  • Two (2) years of experience in Surgical Technology required.

  • AHA BLS required prior to end of orientation
