Job summary

AdventHealth in Deland, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons during procedures, maintain sterile environments, and prepare instruments and supplies. The role requires strong knowledge of aseptic technique, familiarity with surgical instruments, and the ability to work in a high-pressure OR setting.

Candidates should have an Associate degree (preferred) or equivalent, a High School diploma or equivalent, and completion of a surgical technology program or military training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred in surgical tech or allied field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical technology program or military training required/essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and first assistant during procedures with sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures and retractors.
• Maintain sterile field and surgical asepsis throughout operations.
• Prepare instruments, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Assist with room turnover and instrument counts per policy.
• Ensure patient safety and comply with regulatory standards.
