The Surgical Technologist I, OR is an allied health professional integral to the surgical team, providing care to patients from infancy to geriatrics. They work under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensure equipment functionality, and conduct procedures that maximize patient safety. They apply sterile and aseptic techniques, utilizing knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and tools to assist physicians in invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
