The role involves preoperative patient preparation, handing instruments to the surgeon, assisting with gowning and gloving, and performing related patient care tasks such as specimen delivery, room turnover, patient transport, and emergency cart checks. Additionally, the technologist prepares supplies for sterilization, assesses environmental needs, orients new staff on departmental policies, and performs other duties as assigned.
