Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures in the operating room.

Responsibilities include setting up the suite, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with patient positioning, counts, and collaborating with surgeons; minimum education as listed and preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: 1-3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Education/certification: Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire.
• CPR - American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.

• Education and Certification: Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire. Military programs accepted.
• Pre-existing Employment: Employment as a surgical technologist by this facility before 12/29/2020, or at another facility within the two years prior to 12/29/2020.
• CPR - American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
