Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Surgical Technologist to support patients before, during, and after surgical interventions. You will prepare the operating room, assist with instrument handling, and ensure sterile technique in a fast-paced OR environment.

Requires a certificate and CPR; a preference for 3 years of scrub experience. Responsibilities include inventory control, training new staff, and adhering to HIPAA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• 3 years surgical scrub specialty experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Initiates changes to physician preference list and assures that team members are aware of changes. (25%)
• Maintains the inventory for the service area assigned. (20%)
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count. (15%)
• Orients new team members to assigned service area. Directs the work of lower level surgical technicians. (15%)
• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies. (15%)
• Scrubs in prescribed manner, hands physician instruments required during surgery. (10%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
