Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide skilled technical care during surgical procedures and participate in an on-call rotation as agreed with the Director of Surgery. This PRN role offers up to 20 hours per week with morning shifts (6:30 am–3:00 pm or 6:30 am–5:00 pm).

• Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains focus and coordination during operative tasks.
• Reviews charges for accuracy after procedures.
• Ensures counts of sponges, needles, and instruments are correct and reports discrepancies.
• Participates in the on-call rotation and responds within 30 minutes as required.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and patients.
