Job summary

Minimally Invasive Surgery Center of New England is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure proper care and use of surgical instruments and to anticipate the needs of the surgical team in the operating room.

The role involves setting up instruments, sterilizing equipment, preparing patients for procedures, passing instruments, counting sponges and sharps, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgeries. Strong OR experience and CST/BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED with Scrub Technician Certification.
• 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho.
• 1-2 years SPD experience required.
• CST & BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up instruments and equipment required for the procedure.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain an inventory to ensure supplies for surgery.
• Prepare the patient for surgery.
• Pass Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies during the operation.
• Take a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation.
• Recount instruments and supplies at the end of the operation.
• Maintain an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery.
• Stock rooms and assist with daily departmental tasks.
